Kutiyattam, the ancient form of Sanskrit theatre is the only theatre, which has kept alive its vibrant tradition for over 2000 years, and was honoured by UNESCO as being part of world heritage. Kutiyattam is the staging of Sanskrit plays in a traditional style. It takes up to 40 days to enact a full play in Kutiyattam. It is a riveting mix of colour, expression, drama, dance, orchestra and recitation of Sanskrit verses.
