Mrs. Kalamandalam Shylaja has been a Koodiyattom artiste for the last 28 years. She is a senior instructor with 21 years teaching experience in Koodiyattom at Kerala Kalamandalam. A leading exponent in Koodiyattom; she is also a well-acclaimed artiste of Nangiarkoothu and Mohiniyattom. She has performed Koodiyattom and Nangiarkoothu in different countries in India and abroad including U.S.A, France, Italy, Oman, Poland and Germany. She has won many awards and honours such as Kala Dampathi Puraskaram, Kala Darpanam Award and Margi Medal.
