Mr. Rajasekharan’s wife, Mrs. Kalamandalam Shylaja has been a Koodiyattom artiste for the last 28 years. She is a senior instructor with 21 years teaching experience in Koodiyattom at Kerala Kalamandalam. A leading exponent in Koodiyattom; she is also a well-acclaimed artiste of Nangiarkoothu and Mohiniyattom. She has performed Koodiyattom and Nangiarkoothu in different countries in India and abroad including U.S.A, France, Italy, Oman, Poland and Germany. She has won many awards and honours such as Kala Dampathi Puraskaram, Kala Darpanam Award and Margi Medal. Of his two sons, his younger son, Vaisakh Rajasekharan is a senior Kathakali student at Kalamandalam. As an upcoming Kathakali artiste, he has been to Germany as part of his performances. His elder son, R. Sarath chandran is a degree student in NSS Vyasa College at Wadakkanchery. Mr. Rajasekharan is presently residing in Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur, Kerala.
